or is it?  Today is Boxing Day here.  There is plenty of turkey left, as well as all the other treats. It's a restful day in this house, we didn't want to go out shopping for anything from anywhere.  We have all we need.  I admit, I did buy one Kindle book from Amazon using my gift voucher but that's the extent of that.

Christmas day was lovely.  I finally fell asleep very late (just couldn't sleep) and got up late.  The others had taken the dogs for a run before I surfaced.  After a shower we opened our pressies and oohed and aahed over them, with laughter thrown in.  I'm delighted with everything I gave and received.  My Kindle was my main gift and is well used and loved.  Then it was TV, reading, chatting and for some dozing until we finally deciced it was time to make dinner.  Well, what a super meal that was thanks in part to Aunt Bessie's frozen yorkshire puds.  Just had to cook the veg and roast spuds, shove some veg in the microwave, and bingo we were eating.  Andy did the clearing up and ran the dishwasher so I was a winner all the way around.  I ate some trifle later in the evening because I was too full for pudding. Thus continued the day.....  When I went to be I used my new triangle pillow to watch tv for a while and it works!  I was propped so comfortably.  I was surprised at how good that thing is.  When we saw it in a shop Chel thought it might be good for my neck - as support when I'm in pain.  She propped one over my shoulders so the point was behind my head and it was great.  So that is how it will be used downstairs when needed.  Anything that eases pain is worth having.  I'd always thought of these only as supporting the back and never considered needing one.  It's the Fogarty v shaped othorpedic pillow. I chose a vivid turquoise pillowcase for it!

Off now to carve the rest of the big f

Trifles made, turkey in the oven, all is done that can be done for tomorrow.  I've had a rest, coffee with friends, lunch out with Chel (McDonalds no less) and a relaxing day.  Just listening to an Andre Rieu concert on Sky Arts 1 and enjoying it very much.   Actually, since I can't stitch I'm at a bit of a loose end.  I like to fiddle with something.  There are times when reading or puzzles just doesn't work.   Guess I'll pull out that knitting I started the other week.  Having a new scarf doesn't have quite the same feel since Chel got me that new one for my birthday!  But it will keep me busy and I'll find a use for it or make it into something else eventually.

Have a wonderful and peaceful Christmas one and all.

Here it's the 23rd and everything is about done.  I'll nip out and put some frozen sausge rolls into the oven for Andy, but there's nothing else that needs my attention. This is a superb feeling.  All the gifts are wrapped and the turkey is thawing for tomorrow.  I plan to cook it tomorrow and carve it cold.  Then on the big day we'll heat and eat it.  That will leave the oven free to make the roast spuds and Yorkshire pud.  Ohh, yummy.  I can just imagine how great it will be.  Tomorrow I will also make the trifles.  Andy likes his made one way, I don't like his, I make mine differently.  Oh, soddit.  I should have thought ahead and got the stuff to make a tiramisu instead.  After all this is the once a year all those calories are permissable!!!  The one I make has Kalua, cream and marscapone.  And cake. And chocolate.  But it will wait and I'll have a sherry trifle instead.

This year I have not bought any chocolates at all for myself.   The last couple years i've ended up throwing some away.  I 'think' I still have some Easter choc left in the drawer.

I had the most wonderful birthday weekend.  I opened my gifts on Friday morning as that was the only time when we'd all be together with time to have some fun.  Chel got me an amazing scarf - long, wide and very warm and a nice blue and black pattern.  I also had a grey handbag with a very long strap so I can wear it diagonally.  It weighs nothing empty and is better for my shoulders. My heavy ones cause so much pain with all the stuff I need to carry.

What a bargain I mangaged last week.  I'm still surprised about it.  I got the new Motorola Razr android phone!!!!  It was free on a great monthly deal with TMobile.  I got it at the Tesco mobile shop.  TMob hasn't got it in their shops yet and I (and their staff) will be surprised if it's on the price plan I got.  The phone itself is brilliant so far.  All the bells and whistles I could ask for, and lots of room for apps.  My old phone was playing up and allthough the contract was up for renewal on 4 Jan. they wouldn't let me upgrade early so I had to take out a new contract but it has worked out okay.  I took my old phone - the Galaxy Portal - back to be repaired under guarantee so I'll have a working spare if I need it.  The Razr is probably similar to the iphone in what it does.  The only downside so far is the battery life.  Like all the powerful smart phones it needs charging almost every day.

Jess and Stevie are still fun and keeping me laughing.  Last night Jess decided to sleep between me and the edge of the bed.  With Andy on his side of the bed there wasn't much room left for me.  I moved my legs and part of Jess ended up on the floor, I think.  Not all of her, just some feet.  She can have her front or back on the floor and the rest of her body on the bed!!!  She didn't seem to mind, just got back up again.  She's so light that she gets up on the bed and looks for a space to curl up without disturbing us.  Normally unsuccessfully.  But she keeps on trying........for such a long dog she can curl up in a very small space.  She's a great addition to the  family.  I left the kitchen door open when I went out this afternoon and she scarfed the tortillas that were on the top of a 4 inch high storage box at the back corner of the countertop.  A few days ago  she took a whole loaf of bread from there and left the empty bag on the floor.  She'd taken the long bread knife halfway upstairs on the landing where she leaves things.  How she didn't hurt herself is a wonder to us all.  We never know what she'll get from where.  She got into a storage box where I keep the Vicks vaporub the other week.  Destroyed the box but didn't damage the jar (brand spanking new).  Mind you, that could have been interesting I guess.  As we were out for hours she may have been quite poorly or upset by the time we got in.  We try to keep her safe but hey, we live here and can't think of all the places she's likely to get into.  We've never had a dog get into boxes behind the desk before.  She goes under the kneehole, roots around and brings out treasures.  I put it all back and Bingo,  she'll dig it out again when I'm out.  She doesn't try to damage it, just finds it.  Guess she gets bored.  She does play with Stevie though because we find the area rugs all over the place where they've been romping.  Stevie is is normal happy self, loving and funny, so laid back he's no problem.

Well, goodnight to all and I hope you have a magical Christmas with plenty of love and laughter.

added to my blog so I'm taking a bit of time to have a little go.  I've just kept myself so busy with all sorts of stuff that this has taken a back seat.  In addition my mind has been going round in cirlcles 90 to the dozen and I haven't been able to foucs well.   I'm fine, my concerns are for other people.  Chris, Erin, Sam, Shannan and Agi, I am almost overwhelmed by my concern for each  of you.  I send loving thoughts but I don't know how much good that does for anyone.  I hope it works though.

The Cristmas tree is up, most of the cards have been sent.  There are a few gifts to be wrapped and then of course the food shopping that gets done at the last minute.  I had a haircut today which feels great. (and looks good too).  I've seen some old friends which has been fun and look forward to seeing more soon.

The dogs have been great fun.  Today I  took them out for a walk with their new collars on, the battery operated neon glowing ones.  I could see them in the dark - yay!!  This pair make me laugh daily and I'm so glad we have them (or is it that they have us???)

Because I can't stitch, and need to be creative I've started knitting after a break of 29 years or so.  I can't keep tension very well but have taught myself lots of stitches from a book.  All  I'm doing is a scarf in knit and purl using old yarns leftovers I have.  I never really liked knitting but I'm totally enjoying it now.  I'm going to close this down now and do a bit more.  And the scarf is for ME!

If I don't get back on here HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL.
