Well, I've missed an appointment today.  It's the second one this month and I pride myself on not doing that. I thought today's appt was for next week.  I just feel so disorganised of late.

I haven't a clue why I'm so scatty these days and I don't like the feeling. I've been unable to focus on much of anything at all.  However I've done a lot of major cleaning......the oven, cupboards inside and out, the lounge got a great cleaning, even the glass shelves holding my bell collection, filing and paperwork.  I still have to scrub/sand the rest of the paintwork so I can repaint it.  I need to get out my winter clothes so I have something warm to wear no that the weather is getting colder.

But I am enjoying life a lot anyway.  I have started a new cross stitch picture that has less confetti and more blocks of colour, but it's all in shades of pale blue!  Yep, that would be easier on the eyes wouldn't it.  Yeah, sure it would. I am enjoying it though, when I can see to do it.

I'm aware that my vision is getting worse.  Some days I can do stitching and read easily, other days not so well.

Jess is a great dog and a great asset to the family.  She and Stevie are hilarious together.  Yesterday Andy got a surprise when he came home and a dog was looking out the kitchen window at him!  Front paws easily on the countertop - she can reach anything we leave there.  An empty can that had been left at the back of the counter was upstairs on a dog bed when we came in from shopping the other day.  Madam likes to move my shoes from one room to another but hasn't chewed them yet.  She chews books instead - that is one habit we need to break asap.
I've come back now that I've put away lots of summer tops and dug out the winter jumpers.  That's a job well done.  Now I'll go through the ironing basket to see what summer stuff is in there and won't need to be ironed this year!  I'm not really lazy but why iron it to pack it away?

Sodding dog, while I was doing something my clothes she  got the Virgin remote from my bed and chewed the end off it.  I could be more pleased to say the least......but she isn't in trouble.  She's a dog who is doing what she does......even if I'm not thrilled about it.

So now I'll go clean the bathroom and then go down and start stitching (maybe)(hopefully).

I never got around to completing this so I'm posting it

I do have to say thank you for the wonderful weather we've been having lately. It's been brilliant.

All is going well and I'm happy. I've done quite a bit of cleaning lately and the house looks better for it.  There is still more to do though.  The house isn't dirty or messy exactly, but there is always more to do.

My reading challenge is over.  I really enjoyed it and have four good books to boot.  I have been reading such a lot this past few weeks.  Chel got the trilogy starting with the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  They are thick volumes and I read them all back to back, followed by my last book choice from Transworld.

Jess is a wonderful addition to the family.  She sleeps on an old pillow on the floor at the foot of our bed mostly at night.  She is very good.  It's so much fun seeing her and Stevie playing so much - several times a day the pair of them roll around together.  They go out together whenever the door is open, and even sleep touching sometimes.  Stevie is so contented and wants less of my company than previously.  I hate to admit that I'm missing the cuddles but happy that he's happier.  Taking them for walks is no problem, he doesn't need a lead and she is good on hers.  We do let her off but her recall isn't that great yet.  When she's loose and goes running she's amazing to watch, and hilarious.  She's as loving toward us as Stevie is. We were lucky with her - although it is still early days - only two weeks or so.

Nothing else has changed much, all is going well.
